Initial Intake Process
During the first session you will meet with Karen Reynolds for an Initial Intake. The intake involves what is called a systems review of topics such as your primary complaints, health problems, pain, injuries, surgeries, medications etc. There is a thorough interview about the usual patterns of your body such as: Appetite, Digestion, Sleep, Energy, Frequency of colds/flus, Exercise, Subjective Body Temperature etc. An acupuncture session follows the Initial Intake. See below for more details.
Following the Initial Intake or the abbreviated intake if it is a return visit, there is an acupuncture session in which you relax on a treatment table. I choose acu-points specifically for you.
A topical warming process called Moxabustion may be used. Moxabustion makes use of the Chinese herb Artemisiae Argyi also known as Mugwort. The Mugwort rests on the skin over the acu-point and is warmed by hot rocks for In-Office treatments and by traditional direct moxibustion method during Mobile treatments.Treatments are highly relaxing and most patients fall asleep while on the treatment table.
What patients say after getting an acupuncture treatment with me:
“After treatments with Karen, I am relaxed and
able to move my body without pain or restrictions.”
“I always leave with a better attitude than when I arrive.”
